Chit Chat / Would likely help TechDirt prevail if the case went to trial?
« on: October 16, 2017, 10:19:31 AM »
"This is a classic scientific debate, which is a cornerstone of the First Amendment, second only to political debate. Theories of who invented something as basic as email software code need to be free and open and not constrained by claims of libel," says Klaris. He adds that TechDirt's comments about Ayyadurai amount to rhetoric and are part of the debate, and that the claims in question are not provable.

NFLX has had a huge jump after hours due to earnings (Although they missed on earnings, but had a lot of subscribers).
This caused the market to jump up at the end of the day.
Now I'm hearing Health Care isn't going to get through the senate and suddenly the market is selling off (Not really, it went down a point and a half, but in this environment, that's a crash!).
By tomorrow I assume the BTFD folks will have brought things back to +10 in the ES.
Thanks

Our clients are national companies, government agencies, and institutions who know that listening carefully to consumers’ opinions is vital to their success. Typically, interviewers cannot identify the company or organization sponsoring the research. We often help clients with new products that must remain confidential until they are introduced to the public. Also, knowing who is behind the survey might bias the opinions you share. Interviewers only reveal the sponsors of consumer insights studies when doing so is part of their instructions.

Chit Chat / help needed designing 2D Animation explainer video
« on: October 12, 2017, 03:40:04 PM »
Hello,

I would like to produce the 2d Animation Explainer in the shortest time possible because I have other things to do, so I would like to know what workflow would be the fastest and what software should I use.
I would prefer to use free and open source software if possible.

I already looked into Synfig and OpenToonz and some other tools, but there is no easy to setup lip syncing on them, maybe I could use another software for this.

I think it would be faster to use a bone/skeletal animation method to rig and animate the characters. Drawing frame by frame would take too long.

I also think that I could grab images on the internet and use them instead of drawing everything, I know that some images may have a copyright that won't allow me to use them.

Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you.

Chit Chat / 5 Predictions for the future of animated marketing videos
« on: October 12, 2017, 03:27:24 PM »
There’s a problem with innovations… once a trend catches on, everybody starts doing it. In no time, there was a glut of derivative, lazy, knock-off explainer videos crowding out legitimate content. How long can the viewers see the same thing, especially when they are bad?
Tell us, do you remember the last time you saw a whiteboard animation go viral on a social media platform? Maybe, someday whiteboard animations will rise again. But definitely not today!
What’s on the rise? 3D Animation.
In place of whiteboards, let’s look into the future of animation. Animated videos made in 3D is both better-looking and more affordable than it’s ever been. It doesn’t require a Pixar product to tell a riveting story anymore. So 3D might be right for your video! Good news isn’t it!
Some business concepts work better for 3D video than others. Keeping up with the cartoony familiarity of the traditional animation and also with the stark detail of 3D makes the most sense for businesses with a physical product. Using 3D animation, you can create a lifelike prototype of your vision. Throughout the video, it interacts with other objects just like it would in real life.
How about creating different versions of the same video for different platforms?
Avoid making and paying for one single video, and then using that one video across all platforms. The scope of presenting the video to potential customers are endless, so don’t make the mistake of limiting it. To maximize your video’s effectiveness you need to tailor it to the platform it’s presented on.
Usually, the norm is that an animated explainer video posted on a website should be 60-120 seconds long. The video features details of a product in an interesting manner, and leave the customer with a complete understanding of how your business helps them.

Chit Chat / Evince Understanding of Your Customers’ Problems
« on: October 12, 2017, 03:20:17 PM »
In the digital world, if you really want to grab your customer’s attention through a business message – whether it’s through an animated explainer video, a Facebook post, a tv commercial or maybe an ad that appears right before you watch a video on YouTube – you have to prove them that you understand them. Viewers seek importance. They want to ensure the products they select will be the best choices and will actually help them in succeeding and solve their problems.
WHAT PROBLEM DOES YOUR PRODUCT ADDRESS?

First of all, you need to have a clear understanding of how your products or service helps people. What problems can you solve for your customers? Once you nail this question, you’ll have a positive access point for communication with your customers and they’ll see how much you care for them.
Let’s say for example, you sell high-tech winter gloves that are so light and thin that they can fit in a pocket when not in use. Gloves are meant to keep anyone’s hands warm and so do yours but they do more than that. They allow people involved in outdoor activities keep their hands warm while they are out in the cold.
So here you’re not just selling gloves you’re selling warmth and convenience for those who spend time outside in cold temperatures. In addition to protecting your customers from frostbite, they’re lightweight so they don’t need to carry around bulky, unwieldly gloves everywhere they go.

If I have an email account set to forward to another one at a different provider, and then mistakenly set up the second account to forward to the first one (perhaps to an alias of that account), what would happen? Would there be an endless recursive loop of some kind, with forwards going back and forth like a candle between two mirrors? Would it just go on until one account or the other reached its storage limit? Or would there be some other negative consequence? I almost did this by mistake, and now I'm curious about what would have happened.

I received an email from her today and in the From: field it said her first and last name <jo@attic-inspirations.co.uk>

The message body said "I thought you would enjoy it .
The .uk email address is not her address and I don't know how they got her real first and last name.

Can anyone tell me how to have her proceed to safeguard her hotmail email address?

Thanks,

Chit Chat / Which is essential fof safe and better drug use. keep up
« on: October 10, 2017, 12:24:05 PM »
The term "cotton fever" is only used by people in America. "Cotton fever" refers to a specific bacteria that lives on cotton (Enterobacter agglomerans). Problem with referring to these reactions as "cotton fever" is that they frequently occur in people who are not using cotton at any stage of the injecting process. Using the term "cotton fever" confuses people who then assume that the cotton is somehow the culprit. In reality, it could be contamination from any stage of the injecting process inclduing bacteria on the surface of the skin, a cut in the gear, unsterile water source, contaminated filter etc.
The term "dirty hit" covers the whole range of possible causes for these types of reactions, and is probably a better way of describing it than "cotton fever".

Chit Chat / The Home School Mom’s own free printable planning pages

Your students will have the opportunity to learn how to read and write. Then, I'd check out the week's work and make a small notation up in the corner in pencil showing the # of homeschool days completed so far.
The Home School Mom's own free printable planning pages are also a great choice because they are backed by years of experience in the field.
Maybe your children struggle with messy handwriting. No worries. Digital planners abound. TheHomeSchoolMom has a free spreadsheet planner.

Chit Chat / Performance For The S&P This Past Week
« on: October 10, 2017, 12:22:15 PM »
With how much the greenback has been sold, traders won't be looking for much - non-farm payroll growth is expected to rise by only 180K versus 222K in June. As long as job growth exceeds 170K AND wage growth rises 0.3% or more AND the unemployment rate drops from 4.4% to 4.3%, the dollar will soar. However if wage growth grows by 0.2% or less and the unemployment rate holds steady, even another 200K increase in payrolls may not be enough to save the dollar. Aside from NFPs, ADP, pending home sales, manufacturing and non-manufacturing ISM numbers are scheduled for release - all of these numbers will be used to shape the market's expectations for the jobs report.
Thanks
